Start your day on a lip-smacking note with this ‘Bombay Masala Pav’ recipe

What about something other than what’s expected for breakfast today? So you are down, here’s a straightforward formula from culinary specialist Sanjeev Kapoor which is a top pick in Maharashtra.

Called Bombay Masala Pav, the fiery treat is an absolute necessity have for its mélange of flavours.”This one is a well known road food in Mumbai where new pavs are thrown in an onion-tomato masala. Start your day with a flavorful breakfast!” said Kapoor in an Instagram post.Ingredients

1 – Large potato bubbled, stripped and ground

2 – Medium onions, finely slashed

2 – Large tomatoes, finely slashed

2 tbsp – Green capsicum, finely hacked

4 – Pavs

2 tbsp – Butter

1 tbsp – Ginger-garlic glue

Salt to taste

1 tbsp – Red stew glue

1 tsp – Red stew powder

2 tbsp – Pav bhaji masala

½ tbsp – Lemon juice

1½ tbsp – Fresh coriander leaves, finely choppedMethod

*Cut pav into little pieces.

*Heat margarine in a non-stick skillet. Add ginger-garlic glue and sauté well. Add onions, blend well and sauté till cooked.

*Add tomatoes and blend. Add salt, blend well and cook till the tomatoes turn delicate and thick.

*Add bean stew glue and bean stew powder and blend. Add potato and blend. Add pav bhaji masala, capsicum and some water. Blend well and cook for 1-2 minutes.

*Add pav pieces and blend. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves, blend well and cook briefly.

*Serve hot with lemon wedges.
